Yeah, France...

Well, first the language; I have an extremely hard time here because of it. I knew I should have taken another french class at the college before I left. Speaking french is my tragic end, I suck basically. I forgot so much, even more than I thought! I am better at listening than I am at speaking.

Now, the people; my first host family is very nice. Mother Father and two daughters, Audrey & Julie. Julie is the only one in this family who understands english, but speaks very little (my opposite). I have also met most of Julie's friends including Anne-Lise. I will be staying with Anne-Lise for two weeks starting monday, then off to Paris!

This morning Julie's father showed me his job, which is literally next door. He makes jelly out of wine and even though that may sound odd, I tried it, and its actually quite good! He also makes christmas jelly (for christmas of course). He makes even more jelly out of cider, beer, cherry liquor, and all sorts of fruits as well. He has an entire room filled to the brim with his jellies and they all must be good! I was told that if I would like to purchase some of his jellies (which I will) I may get a 50% discount!

Tonight Julie, her friends, and I will go to the local pub (where I tried my first strawberry beer that tastes nothing like beer but is tasty regardless) and after we drink, we go to the castle. The castle is their favorite hangout, I found out why the second day I was here. The view is breathtaking! The ride is a bumpy dirt road which just sets the mood, and after a quarter mile hike you arrive at an old broken castle. When we get to the castle tonight, if the weather permits we will pull an all nighter; in the friggin castle!

I would like to tell you the legend of the castle now:

There are two castles on the same hill, and in them live two brothers. Every morning, when one brother would wake up he would take out his bow and arrow, open his shutters, and shoot the arrow to his brother's tower to wake him up. And the other brother would do the same if he woke before his brother.

One morning, the two brothers woke at the same time, opened their shutters, shot the arrows and the two castles were forever abandoned after this day.
